Bottled Ink for Fountain Pens

Introducing Sailor’s Voyage, a commemorative bottled fountain pen ink collection marking a major 20-year milestone in Sailor’s ink-making heritage. In 2005, Sailor embarked on a storied journey with the debut of its legendary “Ink Blend” on-site events. Pioneered by master blender Mr. Ishimaru—who famously captivated stationery enthusiasts by blending bespoke fountain pen inks in a bartender’s uniform with a cocktail shaker—the event allowed pen lovers worldwide to craft one-of-a-kind colors on the spot. Over the past two decades, this traveling atelier expanded with Mr. Takahashi in 2019, followed by the next generation of master blenders, Ms. Tetsusashi and Ms. Iwasaki, in 2025. Sailor’s Voyage unites the vision, craft, and personal stories of these four master blenders into an extraordinary milestone series.

Each ink in the Sailor’s Voyage collection charts an emotional chapter along this 20-year journey, blending rich artistic depth with nuanced ink performance. Mr. Ishimaru’s Kanpai ("Cheers") offers a celebratory toast to two decades of shared history, featuring a deep, sophisticated red warmed with playful peeking hints of pink. Mr. Takahashi’s Shukkou ("Departure") reflects setting sail toward new horizons, capturing the vivid shift from crystal-clear shallow green waters in the morning sunlight to the serene depths of the open sea. Ms. Tetsusashi’s Akatsuki ("Dawn") depicts the fleeting transition from pre-dawn to daybreak, laying down a vibrant blue that shifts gracefully to a reddish-purple as it dries, finished with a subtle crimson sheen. Completing the voyage, Ms. Iwasaki’s Toku no Umi ("Distant Sea") gazes at the horizon with calm introspection and excitement, presenting a serene oceanic blue kissed by a delicate undercurrent of pink.
